Cape Fear Escape Room
What is an Escape Room?
Escape rooms - also known as Exit Rooms, Puzzle Rooms or Quagmire Rooms - offer you an opportunity to submerse yourself into the action. As a team, you must work together to uncover clues, find hidden keys, solve puzzles and escape the room. But watch out. Distractions are everywhere and nothing is what it seems. This high adrenaline adventure will test your mental skills. You have just 60 minutes to solve the mystery. Can you do it?
When are you open?
We have open online bookings Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 5:00-9:00, Saturday from 12-9:30, and on Sunday from 12-6. If those times don't work for you and your group, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we can find you a time. The venue is also open Mon.-Fri. during the day for corporate and team building events. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL BOOKING TIMES. Click here to book now!
What if we're late?
We start all of our games on time. Your ticket reserves the room for one hour. If you arrive five minutes late, you'll have five less minutes to escape the room. If the rest of your group arrives on time, they will be allowed to start without you.
What about parking?
Our parking is a bit limited - we encourage you to carpool whenever you can. If your reservation is after 5p, you may park in the Philips' Plaza shopping center (5751 Oleander Drive) next to Cape Fear Escape Room. You may also park there after 2p on Saturdays and anytime on Sundays.
Is there a minimum age to participate?
You can bring anyone at any age, but we recommend that children be at least 10 years old. The clues are hard and require concentration. While our games are family friendly, Cape Fear Manhunt involves solving a murder. You may want to give your kids the heads up before the game. However, we have found that children are better than the adults at finding hidden objects and not over thinking some of the clues. It's a great activity for middle and high school teens who have outgrown other activities. Teens under 15 years of age must have an adult with them.
What if I panic and need to get out?
Each game has a doorbell by the entryway that can be used for emergencies, to ask questions, or to ask for a hint. We'll be there in a heartbeat. There are no tight spaces and no one will jump out at you.
Will we be paired with strangers?
Maybe. Up to six people can book our rooms at one time. If a group of two people buys tickets for one game, another group of four could buy tickets for the same time. We will never put more than six people in a room, unless you are all from the same group (see the next FAQ). If you have less than six people and would like to guarantee that you will have the room to yourselves, we recommend buying all six tickets or choosing the "Book Entire Room" option.
We have more than six people in our group? Can we add more?
No problem! Each of our rooms holds up to 10 people from the same party. Choose "Book Entire Room" at checkout. The cost is $200, and includes tickets for up to 10.
Can I book the whole venue?
Of course! During the week, your group, corporate office, birthday party or travel sports team can have the entire 1,800 square foot to yourselves. The rental fee is $300/hour with just a one hour minimum. Available times are Mon and Tues (anytime); Wed, Thurs, and Fri (9a-3p). You can play both games at once and it's up to you how many people participate. Or, you can book the whole venue for the day for just $1,500. You can play as many games as you wish, have access to a host, and set up what you want in our conference room for the day. You can make a reservation online, email us (email@example.com), or call us (910.769.4926) and we can set it up for you.
Can I cancel my reservation?
Once you book a reservation, you are locked in. However, if you would like to change the date or time of the reservation, give us a call (910.769.4926) or shoot us an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) and we will be happy to move you to another available time slot. Severe weather or unforeseeable circumstances may cause us to shut down our rooms. In that case, we will move you to a new day that is convenient for you or we will refund your money.
How much does it cost?
Tickets are $26 (plus tax) per person. If you have more than six people in your group, you may book the entire game for $200 (plus tax), which includes up to 10 tickets. Or, you can rent the whole venue for $300 (plus tax) and have the place to yourselves. Renting the venue gives you access to both games and includes tickets for up to 20 people.
